Do
you take on patients under the NHS? We are a private practice although,
provided you are a regular attendee of the practice, care for your under fives
is included. Patients between five and the end of full time education are charged
at 60% of the normal adult scale. Do I have to
pay for all of my treatment at once? We ask you to pay at each
visit for the work which is carried out. If your course of treatment is
expensive or extensive, a payment plan may be arranged. You should be aware
that there may be a charge for this facility. Any charges will be explained
when the arrangements are made. | I
don't want to wear dentures. Are there any alternatives? Dental
implants are an excellent alternative and they feel and look like your own
teeth. Although the initial cost may appear higher, over time,
the ongoing expense of dentures or fixed bridges is much higher. No more
inconvenience or messy adhesives and no embarrassing or awkward moments
with loose dentures. I work and can't take time
off for the dentist - are you open out of business hours? Our
practice opens a little earlier on normal working days to help patients fit
in their appointment around their working hours. We open at 8.00am
on Mondays to Wednesdays and at 8.30am on Thursdays. In addition, Saturday
appointments are available by special arrangement. Do
you offer tooth whitening at your surgery? Yes, please ask for details

| How
can I learn to look after my teeth? We firmly believe that preventive
dentistry is by far the best so we work with you to help you maintain
a healthy mouth. Our Dental Health Educator and our Hygienist will
show you how to maintain your teeth and gums in a way that is tailored especially
for your needs and lifestyle. Over time we monitor and adjust your self
care plan to ensure you can maintain that healthy smile. Will
I be charged for cancelling an appointment? We are always happy
to rearrange appointments as long as we have sufficient notice. For most
appointments, we ask for two working days' notice. Please note that cancelling
Monday's appointment on the previous Thursday counts as only one day's
notice as we do not see patients on Fridays. For long appointments of three
hours and over, we ask for three working days' notice. If you do
cancel at short notice and we are unable to rebook your time, a charge of
£100 per hour will be added to your bill at the next appointment.
What do I do in an emergency? We see people
in pain as soon as we possibly can, usually the same day. Urgent appointments
can usually be arranged within two working days. Call 01252 812008.
When the practice is closed, details of out-of-hours emergency cover are
given on our answerphone message. | | |
